What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a part of traditional oriental medicine, a comprehensive system of health care that has been practiced for over 3,000 years. Oriental medicine includes acupuncture, chinese herbology, chinese massage/acupressure, dietary therapy and exercise/qigong.

Acupuncture needles stimulate points located in muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia to promote the body's self healing process to respond more quickly and efficiently. Among other effects it helps relax muscles, reduce inflammation and relieve pain. It is used to treat a wide range of conditions including pain, injuries and internal medical disorders.
